Alberta R. "Bertie" Best, 91, Best Drive, Sigel, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at McKinley Health Center, Brookville.
Born May 22, 1921, in Eldred Township, she was a daughter of Harry Beeman McCool and Alice Rose (Raught) McCool.
She was married to James Alexander Best on June 12, 1943, in Brookville. He preceded her in death June 13, 2011. He was the son of Guy Alexander Best and Nula (Wayland) Best.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed and loved her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Deanna R. Mohney and her husband, Carl W., of Sigel and Donna G. Kinol and her husband, Dennis, of Brookville; three grandchildren: Daniel, David and Elizabeth; and three great-grandchildren: Autum, Brent and A.J.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: John Kenneth McCool, Russell Ray McCool, Cecil Alexander McCool and Edward Maurice McCool; and three sisters: Lula Beryl (McCool) Mock, Hazel Mae (McCool) Simpson and Reba Uldeen McCool.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Rudge officiating. Burial in Mount Tabor Cemetery in Sigel, Jefferson County, PA.
