Dr. J.C. Wells, an old and well respected citizen, departed this life Friday after an illness of 4 weeks. He was buried under the auspices of the Masonic order, and was one of the most largely attended funerals that was ever at Clear Spring. The great respect in which he was held is shown by the fact that he was the unanimous candidate for county commissioner of the 3rd district, on the democratic ticket. He leaves two daughters and one son, who have the sympathy of all in this deep grief.
The following information is thanks to: Jim Hutcheson (#47005828)
served as a Surgeon with the 50th Indiana Infantry Regiment from 3/23/1863 until 5/20/1864.
