Bernida Allemand Cormier was born October 16, 1928, in Carencro. She enjoyed gardening, attending mass, shopping and cooking for her family. She worked as a waitress in the Breaux Bridge area and enjoyed serving and visiting with everyone in the community.
She is survived by her sons Harold J. Cormier, Mark Cormier both of Breaux Bridge, Donald (Linda) Cormier of Parks and Ronald (Kim) Cormier of New Iberia; 6 grandchildren Sonya Cormier (Michael) Touchet, Sherry (Ted) Bartkowocz, Kristin (Chad Bourque) Cormier, Cody (Yvette) Cormier, Brooke Cormier and Dr. Allison Cormier M.D.; 8 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband, Jerome Cormier; parents, Alcide and Artimese Allemand; brothers, Bennett Reed, Ovide Allemand and Eugene Allemand; sisters, Viola Trahan, Theresa Langlinais and Anna LaPoint; and one grandson, Tracy Cormier.
