PLATTSBURGH - William E. VanNortwick, 60, of the Beekmantown
Road died Friday night, April 6, 1984. at the CVPH Medical
Center. He was born in Hackensack, N. J., on March 2,1924.
Mr. VanNortwick served with the U.S. Army for more than 21 years, retiring in 1963. He entered the service with the National Guard when he was 17 and then joined the regular army at 18 during World War II. He also served during the
Korean war. He then worked for 15 years at Base Exchange at Plattsburgh Air Force Base until poor health forced his retirement. Mr. VanNortwick was a member of St Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Survivors include his wife, the former Margaret M. LeClair; four sons, William J. VanNortwick of
Dannemora, Don Juan P. VanNortwick, Philip E. VanNortwick and
Timothy VanNortwick, all of Plattsburgh; six daughtersTfars. Joseph (Mary A.) Colweil of Pine Bush, Mrs. Peter (Alice M.) Thuesen of Milton, Vt., Joan C. VanNortwick of Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Landis (Christina) Provost, Angela VanNortwick
and Gemma VanNortwick, all of Plattsburgh; and 13 randchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church. The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
