MILTON, Vt. -- Alice Marie Thuesen, 48, of Old Stage Road, Milton, Vt., died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at her home. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Aug. 6, 1960, the daughter of William E. Van Nortwick and Margaret M. (LaClair) Van Nortwick. Alice graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1978 and moved to Milton, Vt. She has earned several degrees, including a master's degree in psychology, and for the past 17 years, she worked for the Department of Children and Families as a case manager. Alice enjoyed being with her family, and exercise was her lifelong passion. Alice was predeceased by her father. Alice is survived by her three sons, Vincent and Tracy of California, Chad of Milton and Aaron, sea captain; three grandchildren, Gabe, Jayden and Shane of California; her mother, Margaret Van Nortwick of Plattsburgh; four brothers, Bill and wife, Shirley, Don Juan and wife, Virginia, Philip and Timothy of Plattsburgh; five sisters, Mary of Pine Bush, N.Y., Joan of Springfield, Mass., Christina Provost, Angela and Terry Forget, and Gemma and Mark Orzech, all of Plattsburgh; 18 nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. A private ceremony will be held at the discretion of the family.
