He was born July 15, 1925 in Lucasville, Ohio the son of the late Thomas Luther and Martha Jane (Wiles) Conkel. Thomas was united in marriage to Virginia M. (Horsley) Conkel on June 4, 1988, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter of Baltimore, Ohio, three stepsons, five stepdaughters, a special niece, and numerous, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren..
Thomas was a member of the Baptist Faith, a retired self employed Carpenter and a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mildred Louise (Buckler) Conkel, son Thomas R. Conkel, daughter, Brenda Jane Smoke, five sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday May 27, 2015 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly, Ohio with Rev. Ronnie Hines, Officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Union Cemetery, Beaver, with military graveside services by Ross County Veterans Honor Guard, Chillicothe, Ohio.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday.
