In January 1991, he and his wife moved and settled in Folsom, CA. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing, picnics, barbecuing, and playing Pinochle. He loved spending time with family and giving back to the community. Other service oriented achievements included being a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6604 in Folsom, CA, a member of the National Air Force Security Forces Association (AFSFA), and AFSFA Sacramento Valley Chapter. He was also a Documented Original Tuskegee Airman and a member of the George S. "Spanky" Roberts Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.
