He was a highly decorated veteran of WWII receiving 13 military awards and decorations during his distinguished 30+ years of continuous military service. He was drafted in October 1945 and retired from the US Air Force in August 1976. From 1978 to 1990, he worked for Chevron Chemical Plant in Richmond, CA as a Chemical Operator.
In January 1991, he and his wife moved and settled in Folsom, CA. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing, picnics, barbecuing, and playing Pinochle. He loved spending time with family and giving back to the community. Other service oriented achievements included being a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6604 in Folsom, CA, a member of the National Air Force Security Forces Association (AFSFA), and AFSFA Sacramento Valley Chapter. He was also a Documented Original Tuskegee Airman and a member of the George S. "Spanky" Roberts Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.
