Nita Mae Picou, passed away May 9, 2015, at her daughter's home in Gonzales. She was 83 and a native of Maurepas. She was a longtime active member of Maurepas Baptist Church.

Surviving are her brother, Elga Paul Brignac; 2 sons, Ronald Poche, Sr. and Shelby Poche; daughter, Sherry Braud and husband Robert "Buddy" Jones; 7 grandchildren, Laura Webre, Rebecca Vampran Roy and husband Tommy, Adam Poche and wife Christie, Shane Poche and wife Lauren, Laura Poche Redden and husband Kevin, Darryl Braud and wife Amanda, and Justin Poche; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alcide and Alice Berthelot Brignac; 1st husband, Eno Poche; 2nd husband, Ervin Picou; daughter, Diane Vampran; grandson, Ronald Poche, Jr.; and great-grandson, Hunter Poche.
Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

Visitation will continue on Wednesday, at Maurepas Baptist Church, from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 12:00 pm in the church.

Interment will follow in the Maurepas Cemetery.
