LAST RITES FOR JOHN W. ALLEN, 77
John W. Allen, 77, for several years a resident of Brookfield, died Saturday night at the Kansas City General Hospital. Before moving to Kansas City eight years ago, Mr. Allen was employed at the Linn County Hatchery.
Services will be held at the Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield today. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield.
Mr. Allen was born near Mendon on Dec. 13, 1885, the son of Isaac and Clarissa Allen. He was married to Miss Effie Green on Oct. 30, 1910.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth McClintick of Kansas City; six sons, Earl Allen of Brookfield, Ernest, Walter, J.W., John and Wayne Allen, all of Kansas City; 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Billups of Marceline, Mrs. Anna Waugh of Sumner, Mrs. Mary Miller of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Edna Foster of Laclede; and two brothers, Charley Allen of Laclede, and William Allen of Brookfield.
