H.E. Wilson Sr. Dies at Age 92

Henry E. Wilson Sr., 92, died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leslie H. Hoium, 120 St. Christophre St.

He was born near Cedar Rapids, Ia., Dec. 13, 1865, the son of Edgar and Martha Wilson, Iowa homesteaders. He lived most of his life in Sioux City, Ia., until moving here last fall. Mr. Wilson had been ill since last December.

He was one of the nation's first insurance adjustors and was branch manager for the Western Adjustment & Inspection Co. for many years before his retirement at the age of 71 in 1937.

Mr. Wilson is survived by five daughters and one son. In addition to Mrs. Hoium, survivors include Mrs. S.A. Stewart, Rapid City, S.D.; Miss Lota Wilson, Sioux City, Ia. Mrs. David Lennarson, Golrie, Ia.; Mrs. Earl A. Lane, St. Louis; and Henry E. Wilson Jr., Sioux City.

Funeral services, which are indefinite, will be at Nelson-Berger Funeral Home in Sioux City.

Funeral services for Henry E. Wilson, 92, 609 George St., who died Sunday at the home of a daughter at Columbia, Mo. will be at 1:30 PM Thursday at the Nelson-Berger north side Funeral Home.

Rev. S. W. Cunningham will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Schill, Norman Johnson, Jon Lennarson, Fred Stewart, Robert Vik and Anthony Giambruno.

Henry E. Wilson, 92, 609 George St., a resident of Sioux City for 45 years and reportedly the first general insurance adjustor in the Sioux City area, died Sunday at the home of a daughter in Columbia, Mo. after a six-month illness.

Mr. Wilson sold his insurance business in Greene County, Ia. His wife, Julia died in 1955 in Sioux City.

He was a member of the Whitfield Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Henry Jr., of Sioux City, five daughters, Miss Lota Wilson of Sioux City, Mrs. Vera Stewart of Rapid City, S.D., Mrs. David Lennarson of Gowrie, Ia., Mrs. Earl Lane of St. Louis Mo. and Mrs. Leslie Hoium of Columbia. A brother, Judson of Fort Dodge, Ia. 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. The body will be sent to the Nelson-Berger
north side funeral home.
