Obituary published in the Jefferson Bee 1/8/1891: "The very sad news of the death of Mr. E.N. Wilson, of Cedar township, reached this city Tuesday morning. He died at his residence Monday evening, after an illness of less than one week. New Year's week, if we mistake not, he was struck with paralysis, which affected one side of his head and the opposite side of his body. The news reached Jefferson of the great calamity that had overtaken this highly-respected citizen, but it was reported that there were hopes of his building up against this dreadful attack. But it was not so to be, and he gradually sank until death ended the struggle. Mr. Wilson was a sterling man in all the relations of life; and affectionate husband and father and a loyal, generous, friend and neighbor. It is perhaps safe to say that no man in Greene county more nearly lived up to the divine rule of "doing unto others as you would that others should do unto you," than did Mr. Wilson. Hence he was beloved by all. We have no data for an extended notice, but shall hope to present one next week."
