John died on Dec. 19, 1918 at Van Wert, Ohio from Tuberculosis. He was 49 years old, married, and a Car Foreman at the S.M. R.R., and lived at 416 N Market St. John was buried on Dec. 23 at Lima, Ohio.

The Clinton County Times, Lock Haven, PA, Fri., Dec. 27, 1918 also in the Lima News, Lima, Ohio, Sat., Dec. 21, 1918, p. 6, that specifies burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Agar – John B Agar, died at his home at Van Wert, Ohio, at 2:30 o'clock Friday morning of grip and complications. He was foreman and inspector of the Lake Erie & Western shops at that place for many years. For many years he resided in this city. Deceased is survived by his wife and two children, Eleanor and John K, Jr., and the following brothers and sisters, Alexander, Erie; Walter, David, and Sarah, of this city.
