Bennett H. Elkins Sr. Services Friday.

Funeral services for Bennett Harkness Elkins Sr., 65, of Pooler who died Wednesday afternoon at Central of Georgia Hospital after a long illness, will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning.

Services at First Baptist Church in Pooler will be conducted by the Rev. John W. Clark, pastor and the Rev. C. E. Smith. Burial will be in Newton cemetery.

Mr. Bennett was past master of the Richard T. Turner Masonic Lodge of Pooler. He had lived in Pooler for 45 years and was a deacon of the First Baptist Church there.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of American Legion Post 36.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Elkins; two daughters, Mrs. H. R. Letchworth, Pooler, and Mrs. H. E. Newham, Whitemarsh Island; two sons, S. C. Elkins, Pooler, and B. H. Elkins, Jr., Savannah; two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Brown, Savannah Beach and Mrs. H. S. Schweitzer, Forest Park; 13 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The body was taken by Fox and Weeks Funeral Home to the residence in Pooler this morning.

Pallbearers will be T. F. Crawford, M. L. South, W. B. Lewis, W. J. Greene, S. E. Fields and C. W. Letchworth.

Honorary pallbearers will be O. W. Powell, C. S. Herrington, I. C. Farthing, H. J. Boxxe, W. G. Goggans, and A. L. Winter.
