He married Ann McDonnell and they bought their home in Firlane Valley. They raised their two sons, Timothy and Larry (who preceded him in death), and enjoyed their two granddaughters, Heather Burns and Hollie Burns, their four great grandchildren, Cheyanna Burns, Brenden Burns, Cambria Arland and Bailee Benzing. They lived in their Firlane Valley home in Puyallup Tacoma, Washington enjoying friends and neighbors until he died. Freddie was loved and admired by his family and friends.
Fred was a member of the Puyallup Eagles Aerie #2308 for 40 years. He enjoyed his fellow brothers and sisters of the Eagles.
His funeral was held at Mountain View Valley Chapel on March 2, 2015 at 11:00 am, followed by Graveside Service and ending in a reception at the Puyallup Eagles.
He served with the Merchant Marines and worked for the Northern Pacific Railway as a Clerk and a Yardmaster.
