Another angel has gotten her wings.

Genevieve Elizabeth (Forge) McLeod went to be with Jesus on April 18, 2015 just one month shy of being 101 years old. She was born May 13, 1914 in Forest, Idaho to Harold and Ada Mae (Hosley) Forge, the second of six children. Gen grew up in Clarkston, WA where she graduated from high school and also met the love of her life, Norman. Gen and Norman were married July 4, 1938 in San Diego, CA.

Norman was a career Naval Officer, so he and Gen lived all over the US and even in Japan for a time. They loved to travel and loved their family. They made trips to see family often, even going every other year to Texas to be with their son and his family for the holidays.

Gen was a homemaker, raising two children, Bill and Sylvia. When Norman retired, they settled in Lane County, first in Creswell on a small ranch and then in Springfield. Gen was a volunteer at McKenzie Willamette hospital for many years.

On her 100th birthday, all of her family and friends gathered to celebrate with a wonderful and well loved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Gen was preceded in death by her husband Norman, who died in 2002, and all of her siblings except one, Walter of Lewiston Idaho.

She is survived by her children; Bill (Harriet) of Kingsville, TX; Sylvia of Eugene, OR; five grandchildren; Kevin and Debra (John) of Corpus Christi, TX; Elizabeth, Stephanie and Geoffrey (Fran), all of Eugene; and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly.
