Mrs. Resa Fant Ison 82, of LaFayette, Alabama died Friday April 17, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Abanda, Alabama on January 19, 1933 to the late Olin Green Fant and the late Mary Jane Hall Fant. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church near Tiller's Cross Roads, Alabama, and graduated from Auburn University and was a retired school teacher.
Funeral services will be held Sunday April 19, 2015 at 2PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, with Rev. Steve Powell & Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 5PM until 7PM.
Survivors are her husband, Render Ison of LaFayette; four children, Melanie (Kenny) Brown of LaFayette, Anthony (Janet) Ison of LaFayette, Chris (Joanna) Ison of LaFayette, Jerome (Jerri) Ison of Wadley; brother in law, James (Linda) Lisenby of LaFayette; sister-in-law, Frances Fant of White Plains; seven grandchildren, Tanya (Kevin) Boone, Matthew (Jacqueline) Brown, Brandon (Alaina) Ison, Brian (Gina Rutland) Brown, Carmen (Jonathan) Walker, LeAnna (Joey Gillenwaters) Ison & Lindsey Ison; six great grandchildren, Bailea & Bryant Boone, Maison & Whitlee Walker, Lexie & Alivia Kepner.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, or Lake Martin Hospice, or Log A Load For Kids. She was preceded in death by her brother Charlie Fant, sisters Inez Sims, Ruth Pinkard, Laura Barker, Frances Hill & Jimmie Lisenby.
