DUMAS - Virginia "Dutch" Lyles, 76, died Sunday, May 8, 2005.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial
Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Channing Cemetery in Channing.

Mrs. Lyles was born Feb. 24, 1929, in Hartley County. She had lived in Dumas since 1948 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas. She served as a deputy clerk for the Moore County Tax Assessor-Collector from 1975 until 1992. After that, she worked at Wal-Mart for 14 years. She married J. Burl Lyles on May 8, 1948, in Channing.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995.

Survivors include a son, Jim Lyles and wife, Linda, of Lewisville; a daughter, Judy McWilliams and husband, Billy, of Denton; a sister, Freida Mae Allison of El Paso; a brother, Lawrence "Pete" Smith Jr. and wife, Sear, of Andrews; four grandchildren, Lauren Ashlee Lyles, Donnie Ulmer, Jimmy Ulmer and Kaleb Latimer; a niece, Susie Overton of Dumas; and a nephew, Terry Allison of El Paso.

The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, NCICFUL, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454.
