She was the daughter of the late Daniel Leo Buckley and Anna Grace Coughlin Buckley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel Buckley, Dr. Patrick Buckley and Robert Buckley, all of New York.
Mrs. Barton was a graduate of A. Barton Hepburn Hospital School of Nursing in Ogdensburg, NY in 1957. She was a medical underwriter at Occidental Life Insurance Company in Raleigh, NC for a number of years.
She was a Communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Raleigh. for many years as well as a Hospice volunteer. After retiring to Salisbury in 1996, she continued her ministry at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church and was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Daughters.
