He married Kathryn Benware of Massena in September 1977 in Helena. The marriage ended in divorce.
He served with the Navy from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War and worked at Buckley Farms Inc. and Ellsworth Sheet Metal, Fort Edward. Since 1981, he had been a heavy-equipment operator with St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corp.
Surviving was his ex-wife; two sons, Ryan, Brasher Falls, and Timothy, Easton, MD; a daughter, Meagan Buckley, and her fiance, Tracy Bethel, Norfolk; a stepson and his wife, Gregory and Michele Gering, Brandywine, WV; three sisters, Mrs. Harry ( Shirley ) Grow , Massena, Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Barton, Raleigh, NC and Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Nezezon, Spencerport; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
