Staff Sgt. James E. Allen of 1516 Chestnut street was discharged March 10 at Atterbury after arriving back in the States from the Pacific area on March 3. Allen, an employee of Westermeier company, entered the Army March 11, 1943, and served in both the European and Pacific areas. He was a member of 547th Signal Base Depot company and went overseas to Europe in Feb. 1945, taking part in the Rhineland campaign.
He later transferred to the Pacific. He has the EAME ribbon with star, and the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon.
