Rebeckah was the wife of John Titus Sr. She is presumed to be the mother of all of his children considering that she named three of John's sons (in addition to three daughters) in her will. She died between 9 Sep. 1762 (the date of her will) and 1 Nov. 1762 (date will proved), presumably in Hopewell Twp., old Hunterdon (now Mercer) Co., NJ, where she resided. She was likely some years younger than her husband--probably born in the 1685-1690 period based on the birth of her last child about 1730-35. See his memorial for more detail about their children.

Rebeckah's maiden surname/parentage are not known at this time. She and John Titus appear to have had at least one child before his relocation to New Jersey by 1710. Thus, a Newtown, Long Island, origin for her seems likely. The fact that she had a son named Philip has led to speculation that she might have been a Ketcham.

Gravesite Details

This memorial is tentatively placed here based on Rebeckah's residence in Hopewell Township, the likelihood that she was a Presbyterian, and her descendants' affiliation with this church.
