Mrs. Ray died at 6:50 p.m. Monday at her home.
A native of Muhlenberg County, Mrs. Ray was a former nurse aide at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
She was a member of Drakesboro First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 35 years and was a member of the Women's Missionary Union.
Surviving are her husband, James Estil Ray Sr.; two sons, James Estil Ray Jr. of Louisville and Charles Morton Ray of Shepherdsville; one daughter, Catherine Johnson of Paducah; one sister, Mary Wood of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Her parents were Cisero and Annie "Drake" Maxwell.
