He died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.

Mr. Ray, a native of Christian County, was retired from P&M Coal Co., with 46 years of service. He was a member of Drakesboro Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, James and Charles Ray; a daughter, Catherine Johnson; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Carrie Marie Ray.
