LAKE PROVIDENCE - Funeral services will be held today for Sam L. House Sr., 72-year-old Lake Providence resident, who died in a Mississippi Friday night after a brief illness.
Mr. House had been a resident of Lake Providence for the past 37 years and was past Master of the local Masonic lodge, a Shriner, and a retired State employee.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lake Providence Methodist Church with the Rev. George York officiating. Masonic rites will be held at the grave and burial will be in the Lake Providence Memorial Gardens under the direction of Gay's Funeral Home of Lake Providence.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Louise House, Lake Providence; two sons, Sam L. House Jr., and John C. House, both of Lake Providence; and two sisters, Mrs. Olin C. Taylor and Mrs. Nell Alexander, both of Sentobia, Miss.
Acting a pallbearers will be Kenner, John and Herbert Howard, Ogden Russell, Henry Winters, Elmus Coleman, J.W. Gilbert and acting a honorary pallbearers will be members of Mr. House's masonic lodge.
