Allene Rasmussen Hone, 69, of Norman, OK, died suddenly May 19, 1997 at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 1997 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Utah with the Bishop officiating.
Allene was born April 29, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Henry A. and Erba R. Rasmussen. Allene attended school in Fairview, Utah, where she graduated in 1946. She then attended BYU and later graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelors degree in English.
Following her schooling, Allene taught English and Journalism in Salt Lake City, Utah. She later moved to Garland, TX and resided for eight years. Allene then moved to Norman, Oklahoma, where she worked at the University of Oklahoma OCCE for 17 years, retiring in 1988.
Allene volunteered at NAIC and in the Genealogy Library at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Norman. She enjoyed the Arts; painting and theatre, reading, traveling, and she was an avid OU sports fan.
Allene was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, Jeff Hone and his wife, Linda of Tyler, TX; Muffin McNeil and her husband, Rick of Edmond; Ed Hone and his wife, Ann of Guthrie; Michelle Love and her husband, James of Norman; and David Hone of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Joshua and Brett Hone of Tyler, TX; Jaclyn, Carie and Michael McNeil of Edmond; Stefan Hone of Edmond; Evin Hone of Gutherie; and Robert and Steven Love of Norman; brothers, Leon Rasmussen and his wife, Verdean of Salt Lake City, UT; Rodney Rasmussen and his wife, Diana of Santa Rosa, CA; and Arlan Rasmussen and his wife, Clair Ann of San Jose, CA; aunt, Betty Madsen of Salt Lake City, UT; and many other relatives and friends.
