Margie Jean Novotny, 74, of Lincoln, daughter of Merwin Henry Adams and Francis Marie (Killham) Adams, was born July 23, 1940 at Fullerton. She passed away March 10, 2015 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

She attended St. Edward Public Schools, graduating from St. Edward High School in 1958. On November 2, 1958, she was united in marriage to Earl L. Novotny. Earl's 20 year military career took them to Illinois, Hawaii, Brooklyn, NY and Chula Vista, CA. After Earl's military retirement they returned to their hometown of St. Edward in 1978.

Mrs. Novotny was employed with the United Way of San Diego, Vischy of Columbus, NE and owner of Margie's Mud Puddle until 1994. After Earl's death in 1994 she moved to Lincoln and worked for Lincoln Public Schools until her retirement.

Margie was active in Brownies and Girl Scouts of San Diego for 8 years, girls softball, Parkview little league baseball, YMCA Indian Guides and Pop Warner midget football, and Lancaster Election Board. She enjoyed reading, crafts, ceramics, and most of all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and pets. She was an avid fan of college football especially the Huskers, and little league world series baseball.

She is survived by her two children; daughter Shelly (Dan) Schack; son Steve Novotny; grandchildren Andrea (Marshall) Young, Justin (Jamie) Schack, Jade Novotny and Christian Novotny, all of Lincoln; great-grandchildren Canyon Young, Macy Young, Easton Schack and Logan Schack; sister Bonnie Westring; five sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister; six brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (3-14-15) at United Methodist Presbyterian Church in St. Edward, Nebraska with Pastor Olson officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in St. Edward.
