Two notes from this memorial's contributor-
1) There seems to be constant attempt within the flowers (which is not supposed to be the place to do so) about whether the Hannah Palmer that married William York is the Hannah presented here, or the Hannah whose mother is Mercy Manwaring.
The Hannah w/mom Mercy Manwaring, who was b bet. Dec 02, 1710/11, died a SPINSTER.
Her father was Jonathan Palmer (Aug 07, 1668-Aug 26, 1726) who was the son of Nehemiah Palmer & Hannah Stanton. Jonathan Palmer born 1668 was also the brother of Joseph Palmer, who with wife Francis Prentice had THIS memorial's Hannah Palmer-Palmer-York=wife of William York.
2) Hannah's death date and place of burial are unknown. Since that is the case, there are no credible sources shown that she was buried with the last name of Palmer (her first married name), instead of York(e) (her last married name).
Also in 1738-9 she used her York married name, on a quit claim deed, as part of her 1st husband Geo. Palmer's estate. Again in the flowers- it is correctly noted that she was listed with the term 'relic' (widow) in the quit claim deed. The 'flowers' comment was- that the term relic would not have been used for a married woman. That is however, untrue. There are a number of instances where , if a reference was made concerning a former deceased husband's property- even a currently married woman was called a 'relic' of the deceased husband.
So, for those reasons, I used York as her memorial's last name.
