Chilmark, Nov. 11--Mrs. Elizabeth Kelly Mayhew, wife of Harold Baker Mayhew of Hyattsville, MD., and Chilmark, died Saturday night at her Summer home here. She had spent her Summers in Chilmark for 25 years.

Born in 1881 in Penacook, N. H., daughter of James and Margaret Gehagan Kelly, she was one of the most prominent women in Hyattsville, Md., where she had resided with her husband for many years. She was a member of the Tinkey Memorial Epicopal church of Hyattsville, and a former aid to the rector, member of the Parent-Teachers Association of Washington, member and past president of the Mellwood Club, Marlboro, Md., past president of the Hyattsville Woman's Club, past president of the Hyattsville Democratic Woman's Club, member of the Prince George County Federation of Woman's Clubs, member of the Woman's Community Club in Chilmark; a founder of the Hyattsville Public Library, founder of the Prince George County World Warr II Memorial Library, and the Public Library of Forestville, Md.

Mrs. Mayhew also was a member of the board of the Episcopal Home for the Aged, Washington, and recently was appointed a trustee of the Library Board for Prince George County by Governor Herbert R. O'Connor of Maryland.

Survivors besides her husband are two daughters, the Misses Polly H. and Elizabeth Adams Mayhew; a son, John Wesley Mayhew 2d, all of Hyattsville, and a brother, James V. Kelly of Springdale, Conn.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow with interment in the family lot in Chilmark Cemetery.
