HARRY J. GRANT, 72, of Apple Valley Parkway, a postal clerk for the U.S. Post Office for 20 years before retiring, died Wednesday in Miriam Hospital, Providence.
He was the husband of Yvette (Boisvert) Grant.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Walter and Margaret (Green) Grant, he lived in North Providence before moving to Smithfield 15 years ago.
He previously worked for the Congdon & Carpenter Co., Providence, for 24 years.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and received two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, a son, three sisters and five grandchildren.
He was father of the late Sandra Grant and brother of the late Margaret Mainey, Thelma Hogan, Ernest and Daniel Grant.
