Born in Somerville, Mass., he was a son of the late Walter Grant and Sarah (MacMaster) Grant. Before retiring in 1947, he was employed by the New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. for 42 years. He was a member of the Alexander McLellan Chapter, Telephone Pioneers of America. He was the husband of Margaret M. (Green) Grant and the father of Henry, Daniel, and Ernest Grant. He was also the father of Mrs. Margaret Mainey, Mrs. Sylvia Guertin, Mrs. Thelma Hogan, Mrs. Eva Thurston, and Mrs. Geraldine Ricci. He outlived two sisters, Mrs. Merton Sanborn and Mrs. Edward Oakland.
