Donald R. Abbitt, 67, of Fortville, passed away March 9, 2015. He was born November 8, 1947 in Bloomington, IN, to the late James and Ephra White Abbitt.

Don was a graduate of Bloomington High School. He married Joyce A. Runyon December 31, 1968, and was employed with Tom O’Daniel Ford as a mechanic for many years, and most recently employed with Farm Bureau Co-Op. Don was a member of Life Connections Church.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Joyce A. Abbitt; daughters, Michelle L. Bryce (Craig), Rachel D. Ellyson (Christopher) and Holly M. Denman (Michael); brothers, James Abbitt, Jr. (Shirley) and Daniel Abbitt (Dawn); sisters, Barbara McGlocklin (Gilbert), Wanda R. White, Madeline Morris and Pamela Stogsdill; and 17 grandchildren.

Two brothers, Cecil and Fred Abbitt; and a sister, Nancy Hillenburg, preceded him in death.
