He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, where he received the Bronze Star, and he was employed by the Oklahoma City Fire Department for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Nell of the home; two daughters, Janet Sharon Maupin-Holder and husband Voyle of Newcastle and Barbara Lynn Baker and husband Darrel of Stillwater; one brother, B.G. Ainsworth and wife Jean of Oklahoma City; one grandchild, William Charles Maupin, Jr., M.D. and wife Judy of Edmond; and three great-grandchildren, Jared, Callie and Katie Maupin of Edmond. He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Mary Lou.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 7, in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
