Jorge was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on September 14, 1986, son of Bolivar and Agueda (Garcia) Fernandez, and had been a Torrington resident for the past fourteen years.
He was graduate of Torrington High School and played Varsity Football. Jorge was employed as a custodian with the Torrington Board of Education and had also served as a bilingual instructor. He was a communicant of St. Peter Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and parents, include two sons, Jorge S. Soto and Ricardo A. Soto, both of Torrington, three brothers, Marcos Fernandez, Jovanny Fernandez, and Bolivar Garcia, a sister, Perla Fernandez, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 9, 2015, meeting directly at St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington.
Friends may call Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington.
