Harry Jr. was the youngest of eight children of the Tekla and Harry Pouchak family. At 10 YO, he was a well behaved, fun loving boy who really enjoyed telling his mother what new things he learned at school each day. He enjoyed fishing with his father.

Harry Jr. drowned while fishing on the inactive 'Pipe Pond' of the Pierce Addition underground mine. He apparently slipped from the large pipe while fishing, one end of the pipe was partially underwater, he became trapped in the submerged open pipe end.

After leaving home at 1 PM and failing to return by the prearranged time of 3 PM, his 17 YO brother Matt and their father, went to search for him only to find the faithful dog "Poochie" waiting by the shore. Later, the oldest brother Bill, suspecting the worst, waded in the water to find Harry's submerged body at the end of the pipe. He was the third child to pass before his parents. His young death shocked the community and region. He would have been in 5th grade that fall school year.
