Mrs. Laura Beavans Dies at Age of 86

Mrs. Laura Alice Beavans, 86, of Warren Route 2 died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at her
home in Jackson Twp., Wells County, of a heart ailment. She had been ill 16
years and seriously ill the past week.

She was born April 3, 1874, in Wells County to Samuel and Nancy K. Huffman
Batson. Her marriage was to Lawson J. Beavans, who died in 1943.

Mrs. Beavans was a lifelong resident of Wells County and a member of the Union
Chapel Methodist Church at McNatt.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carl Perdue of Marion, nine grandchildren and 22
great-grandchildren.

The body, at the H. Brown & Son Funeral Home at Warren, will be returned to the
residence, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the McNatts Methodist Church,
Rev. Stanley Neuenschwander of Monroe will officiate and burial will be in the
Woodlawn Cemetery at Warren.
