Mrs. Bishop was born in Inman, SC on March 6, 1930, and was a daughter of the late Mildred Nell (McAbee) and James Rufus McAbee. She was the widow of Thomas Durant Bishop.
She was a member of Mt. Calvary Christian Church in Spartanburg, SC, and retired from the Spinning Department at Jackson Mills.
She is survived by two sons, Danny Bishop and his wife Faye of Holly Springs, SC, Roger Bishop and his wife Beverly of Duncan, SC, two daughters, Frances Bishop of Boiling Springs, SC, Nina Dillard and her husband David of Spartanburg, SC, four brothers, George Alfred McAbee and his wife Katherine of Wellford, SC, James Rufus McAbee and his wife Virginia of Lyman, SC, Everette McAbee of Inman, SC, Bobby McAbee and his wife Sharon of Wellford, SC, three sisters, Jenny Keller of Inman, SC, Nancy Brackett and her husband Ronnie of Campobello, SC, and Sandra Alexander and her husband Marshall of Lyman, SC. There is one grand-daughter, Brittney Ragan and one great grandson, Ryan Prince.
She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Hawkins, two infant sons, Roy David Bishop and Donald Durant Bishop and a granddaughter, Allison Dillard.
A visitation was held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. David Whitener and Rev. Ron Jackson. Interment was at Fort Prince Memoral Gardens, 126 Fort Prince Rd., Wellford, SC 29385.
