JAMES GRAVES MIDGETT, JR., 78 of Elizabeth, NC died in the Albemarle Hospital, Sunday, April 30, 2006. He was the son of the late James Graves Midgett, Sr. and Palmyra Payne Midgett and was the husband of Vicki Williams Midgett. Mr. Midgett was a Protestant and was retired from the United States Coast Guard and Courtesy Ford. Other than his wife he is survived by two sons, James Midgett III of Kitty Hawk, NC and Timmy Midgett of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister, Mae Fulcher of Salvo, NC; three brothers, Melvin Midgett of Wilmington, NC, Vance Midgett of Elizabeth City, and Oliver Midgett of Norfolk, VA. A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 2:00 PM in Twiford's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dwight Burrus and Mike Askew officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors by the William Clarence Jackson Post VFW Post 6060. Visitation will be in the lobby of the funeral home Tuesday evening, May 2, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Midgett Family.
