Per his death certificate found on Ancestry.com in the name Fredrick I. Bower: he was a son of Levy Bower and Viney Bower, both born in S. C. He was married at the time of his death but his spouse is not named. He was a farmer. He died in the township of Saluda of apoplexy. The informant was Fred Bower of Chapin.
