James Lewis "Jim" Wilkes Jr. was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Carrollton, Isle of Wight Co., VA and graduated from Smithfield High School, Smithfield, VA.

Jim was a wonderful, cheerful son and brother and was loved by all. He was a welder and a member of the Pipefitter's Union. He was driving home from work via York County, VA one afternoon and his vehicle was hit by another car, resulting in Jim's death.
