The following obituary appeared in "The Sharon Herald" (Sharon, PA) on Thursday, December 10, 2020:

Betty Mae Rowe, 89, of Wheatland Road, West Middlesex, passed away at Nugent's Nursing Home, Hermitage, on Dec. 8, 2020.

She was born in West Middlesex on Sept. 6, 1931, to the late Donald Edward and Mildred Christine Mahan Swartz.

She married Thomas John Rowe March 11, 1950, and he preceded her in death in 1996.

Mrs. Rowe was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex, having been a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Mary Martha Circle, and release-time leader. She was also a former Girl Scout leader.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine D. (Robert) Palko, of West Middlesex, and Sue E. (Edward) Herr, of Mercer; one sister, Gail Snyder, of Keedysville, Md.; one brother, Donald Swartz Jr., of Hermitage; two sisters-in-law, Bea Swartz, of Hermitage, and June Holmes, of North East, Pa.; five grandchildren, Robert Palko Jr. (Casey), Thomas Palko (Erin), Briana Proudfoot (Luke), Matthew Herr, Renee Herr; and eight great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Lucy, Jackson and Allison Palko also, Anna, Emma and Clara Proudfoot and Jacob Herr.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Stewart Swartz.
