Mr William A Baker, who spent nearly the whole of his long life of 83 years near Sweet Springs, Monroe county, died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Edw C Eagle, at Hinton, Jan 29, 1922, after an illness of pneumonia of only a few days. Mr Baker was a successful farmer and a man well esteemed in his community as a kind neighbor and friend. For 60 years he was a member of the Baptist Church. He was born in the Sweet Springs Valley Sept 22, 1838; was married to Miss Catherine Lugar, of Midway on Sinking Creek, Craig County, Virginia.
