She was born in Westville on May 6, 1926 to John and Mary (Rigo) Russian, both deceased. She married Tony Suchaczewski on May 3, 1952. They were married for 52 years before he passed away in 2004. She came to live with her daughter's family for the past 10 years where her children were able to be a mother to her.
Her life was devoted to God and her family. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she attended daily Mass and prayed the Rosary. While her children were going through the Catholic school, she volunteered her time with the famous fish fry and spaghetti dinners.
She was always there to love, to talk and smile when her children came home from school with a homemade snack. The kitchen was her favorite place to be making her Hungarian, Czechoslovakian and Polish dishes.
Katherine enjoyed flower gardening and canning fruits and vegetables for the family. Every celebration was festive with fellowship and food. Among her favorite celebrations were birthdays, holidays, family reunions and vacations. It was not Christmas without her Orechovniky nut and poppy rolls and her Gallette and Kifflette cookies.
Katherine leaves behind her five children, David Suchaczewski, Rosanne (Howard) Brown, Mary Lou Suchaczewski, Tony Suchaczewski and Tim (Amy) Suchaczewski;
five grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn (Jim) Coleman, Theresa Kramer and Rosalie (Harold) Bennett; her sisters-in-law, Blanche Russian, Carol Russian, Dorothy Suchaczewski, Josephine Suchaczewski and Lillian Suchaczewski and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Suzanna Rush, Sister Mary Edmund Russian O.S.F., John Russian, Margaret Majercin, Mary Marjanovich, Mildred Sterner and Donald Russian.
