Donald A. Russian, 83 of Danville, passed away at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Hawthorne Inn.

He was born Jan. 11, 1931 in Westville to John and Mary (Rigo) Russian Sr. He married Carol Drews on May 6, 1956 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Marsha (Gary) Mansfield, Steve (Debbie) Russian and Laura (Aron) Cooper; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Theresa Kramer, Rosalie (Harold) Bennett, Katherine Such and Evelyn (Jim) Coleman and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Russian; his sisters, Suzanna Rush, Margaret Majercin, Sister Edmund O.S.F., Mary Marjanovich and Mildred Sterner and a special brother-in-law, Jack Kramer.

He attended Westville grade school and Schlarman High School, going on to work as an engineer for over 35 years for C&EI, L&N, and CSX railroads.
