ELEANOR M. VAN HORN, 90, of Monroeville, Ind., passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016 at 12:16 a.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born Feb. 23, 1926 in Monroe ville, she was a daughter of the late Harold R. and Eulalia M. (Martin) Dawson. Eleanor was united in marriage with Robert Van Horn on Oct. 20, 1945 in the St. Rose Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1963. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon. A homemaker until the death of her husband, Eleanor retired after 26 years with Hardware Wholesalers as an accountant. She was a 1944 graduate of Monroeville High School. Survivors include sons, Dennis (Phyllis) Van Horn of Monroeville, Jack Van Horn of Springs, Texas; daughters, Linda (Paul) Lauletta of Ocean Shores, Wash., Jean Marie (Kenneth) Castleman of Monroeville, Nora (Bob) Burges of Bend, Ore., Lois (Tony) Dolezal of Columbia City, Betty (Steve) Zoller of Terre Haute, Ind.; brother, Daniel C. (Nede) Dawson of Rotonda West, Fla.; sister, Mary (Maurice) Kline of New Haven; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Roy Van Horn in 2016, and Roger Van Horn in 1976; and a sister, Patricia Dawson; three brothers, Harold "Louie" Dawson, Earl Dawson, and Donald Dawson. Prayer service is 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, with visitation from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon. Father Ben Muhlenkamp officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at the funeral home, with a Rosary Service at 4 p.m. Burial in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Besancon.
