Charles "Chuck" A. Campbell, 86, passed away Jan. 13, 2015, at his home in Yucaipa due to natural causes.

He was born in Tucson, Arizona. Chuck went to grade school in Wheatland, Wyoming and attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and played in the Army Division band. After leaving the army, he earned his AA degree from Casper College and attend San Diego State University. He left to work for a top accounting firm, all while continuing to play at numerous clubs and functions around San Diego.

Chuck moved to Yucaipa in 2001 from Chino, where he had lived for 22 years. He spent most of his time enjoying, playing and arranging music and was a member of the Inland Empire Jazz Club. Chuck was a supremely talented musician who played many reed instruments as well as flute, drums and piano. Chuck played with many musical groups and bands through his career.

In order to provide for his family, Chuck drove trucks for many years and was a member of the Teamsters until, in 1982, a severe accident ended his driving career. His strength and perseverance were evident in the years following as he continued to live his life to the fullest.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 56 years Jean; a son; three daughters; two step-sons; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Chuck and Jean spent many happy days traveling and camping with friends and fellow members of the Good Sam Club and the Happy Travelers.

Friends, neighbors, fellow musicians and family will be gathering soon to remember and celebrate the life of Chuck Campbell at the Yucaipa Woman's Club.

Chuck's ashes will be interred, along with those of his wife, upon her death.
UPDATE: As Chuck's wife Jean passed June 11, 2022, services for both were held Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Riverside National Cemetery.
