She was born August 18, 1899, in Comanche County, Texas, and had lived in San Saba for 36 years. She married Jasper Lee Brown, and after his death, she was married to Sam Gatliff in San Saba. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Alvin Brown of San Saba, Herbert Brown of Houston, and Bobby Brown of San Saba; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Pierce of San Saba, and Mrs. Claudine Thacker of Arlington; three brothers, Herman Helms of Eagle Pass, Woody Helms of Cleburne and Willis Helms of Stephenville; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
