Henry Bridge was part of Pennsylvania Emergency Militia Muster of June 1863. Enlisted Pine Grove Mills or Graysville and muster in in Huntingdon, PA Camp Juniata, June 30, 1863 with PA Infantry Militia 46th Regiment Co. A. Oral tradition and anecdotal recollections say they left Huntingdon and marched double time to Gettysburg. Arriving sometime July 2, 1863. They served transporting wounded and building Camp Letterman. Muster out was August 18, 1863. Descendants recall recollections including, they walked home from Gettysburg, Adams Co., PA, a distance recorded on the muster out as either 120 or 127 miles. The service was not 90 days and frequently there is no recognition of the service. The PA State Archives contend the only extant records for these men are the muster sheets and Samuel P. Bates Civil War History Volume 5.
