Wife of Alexander Clayborn "A.C." Hewitt (1811-1897). Malinda and Alexander were married on September 25, 1834 in Highland County, Ohio. Alexander and Malinda had at least six children together including: John A., Legrand, Leonidas, Mary, Granville and Scott Hewitt. Malinda was the daughter of John Cornelius Upp and Sarah "Sally" (Merritt) Upp. Malinda's parents are buried in the same cemetery as her husband's parents (Rev. D.D. Hewitt and Bridget "Biddy" (Rowland) Hewitt).
Please note: Malinda is listed only as "Grandmother Hewitt" in her obituary which appeared in the Nodaway Democrat on March 11, 1897. The obituary states that her husband died three weeks before her.
