Services for Margaret A. Hassell were held Monday at 4:00 p.m. in the Commerce St. Church of Christ, Gainesville, Texas, with Percy Parrish, minister of the Commerce St. Church of Christ, officiating.
Mrs. Hassell was born July 11, 1904, in Indian Territory, now Roth, and died February 22, 1997, in Gainesville. She was the daughter of Benjamin DeWitt and Flossie Ann Massey Pearman.
As well as being a homemaker, Mrs. Hassell was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and also enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was a member of the Commerce St. Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, Harold Hassell of Gainesville; two daughters, Elizabeth Reeves of Pasadena, Texas, and Lois Long of Turtletown, Tennessee; a sister, Georgia Hardy of Nederland, Texas; a sister-in-law, Willie Pearman of Thackerville; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hassell was preceded in death by her husband, M.J. Hassell on March 31, 1952.
Services were conducted by Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville, with interment in Fairview Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers were Dean Pearman, Don Pearman, Paul Hassell, Dale Hassell, Joe Reeves and James Reeves.
