Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants." Psalm 116:15. Our beloved husband, daddy and granddaddy passed away Friday, January 9, 2015. He was born August 19, 1924, in Plaquemine, Louisiana, to Edward Mitchell Alonzo and Marie Gomez Alonzo, the youngest child of 10 children.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Theresa Lemoine Alonzo, daughter and son-in law Roxanne and Earl Atkinson, three sons and daughters-in-law, Jay Dennis and Debra Alonzo, Robin and Lisa Alonzo and Kevin and Lee Ann Alonzo; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was a retired production manager with Rhodia and a veteran of WWII having served on the USS Ticonderoga aircraft carrier in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and of St. Alphonsus Knights of Columbus 2807.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers and sisters, Nellie Rivet, Ella Higginbotham, Pearl Sanchez, Eunah Patureau and Edward, Tony, Mack, Sidney, and Darron Alonzo.

Visitation will be at Rabenhorst East, on Sunday, Jan. 11, from 5-9 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday, 9:30-11:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Resthaven Mausoleum.
